Staff:
Jesse Regis - This year’s News Director, Jesse joined WRGW his freshman year as a reporter and became Assistant News Director shortly thereafter. He co-hosts News in Depth every Sunday afternoon from 12-1pm. A Political Science major, Jesse often wonders what he’s going to do with his life, but finds comfort in knowing that he will be make a lot of English major friends in the process. The New Jersey native was the co-editor of his high school newspaper, has interned at WRNJ Oldies 1510 radio , freelanced for the Parsippany, NJ based Daily Record, and will spend his summer interning at WTOP radio in Washington, D.C. One of the best experiences of his career came when he traveled to Denver, Colorado to cover the 2008 Democratic National Convention as press. He has also worked at the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence, and as an intern in the Arlington, VA Obama for America office. He thus considers one of his greatest assets being the ability to work for nothing but free break room coffee and praise. When he’s not scuba diving in Pennsylvania, playing laser tag, or gushing over President Obama (journalistic neutrality being optional outside the station) you can find him meandering backwards through campus as a Student Admissions Representation (STAR) tour guide. He’ll be co-leading a hurricane relief effort to Galveston, Texas in January through the GW Office of Community Service and encourages you to apply because you’ll get to know more fun and unnecessary facts about him that haven’t been covered in this obscenely long paragraph. If you would like to give Jesse a paid internship, with the opportunity for full employment, tenure, and stock options, you may contact him at wrgwnewsdirector@gmail.com.
Alexander Laska - is a rising-Sophomore Political Communications major originally from Westport, Connecticut. Formerly a general reporter and now an Assistant News Director, Alex also serves as the Washington Correspondent at Scoop44.com. When he’s not busy with Planet Forward, GW College Democrats, or Green GW he likes to hang out near Lafayette Park, or as he likes to say, “That place near the White House where we protest when we don’t have a permit.” Then there’s the reflecting pool where he likes to reflect on how if he could be anyone he would be Cartman from “South Park” because he’s “hella cool”. Alex hopes to become a political journalist with the dream of hosting his own show on MSNBC.
Jenn Neuner – When she’s not spending her Sunday afternoons from 12-1pm listening to News in Depth at wrgwnews.com or on campus cable channel 22, you can find the New Canaan, Connecticut native on GW’s Crime beat, reporting on the incidents of the week. Jenn has been with the station since her freshman year but you can also find her up on U Street, one of her favorite parts of the city. A Journalism and Mass Communications major she has no trouble communicating her feelings confessing that when people won’t stop talking she is the one who whistles really loudly and everyone shuts up. Currently a Sophomore Jenn hopes to have a career as a news anchor, film producer, reporter, or a related field in the media or film industry.
Monika Wysocki – A sophomore Political Communications major, Monika is entering her second year in the News Department as a campus news reporter. She also serves as WRGW’s Assistant Program Director and is involved with GW Ball Room and Rock the Vote. Though she calls Astoria, Queens home Monika enjoys traveling having hiked a part of the Appalachian Trail. She hopes to travel to all seven continents, but in the meantime you can find Monika at her favorite spot in D.C. – Eastern Market on a Sunday morning.
Dan Keylin – A Political Science major and this year’s Student Association beat reporter, you’ll see Dan at every SA meeting reporting, live blogging, and telling you everything you need to know. A Wethersfield, Connecticut native you can often find Dan eating at his favorite restaurant, Old Ebbit Grill. He enjoys its great food, ambiance, and chance to watch politicos like Tucker Carlson eat. Some might find that creepy but to Dan it’s just another day living in the district. (Old Ebbit Grill did not pay us to say nice things about them, however, if they would like to underwrite a broadcast or contribute free humus platters they are more than welcome to contact the station). When he’s not watching politcians, Dan, for reasons that the writer of this biography does not fully understand, enjoys waking up at 4am and watching regular people. “It’s amazing to see how early people have to get up in the morning and how hard they work to make a living,” Dan said. “It will give you a whole new perspective on life.”
